A vehicle transporting five Moroccans, in addition to the driver, occurred on Sunday near Cienfuegos, a port city in Cuba. The Cuban driver did not survive, while the five Moroccans only suffered minor injuries.
The vehicle is said to have overturned due to the driver losing control. The latter apparently wanted to avoid a cart, according to sources within the Moroccan embassy in Cuba.
Boughaleb Attar, the Moroccan ambassador to Cuba, is said to have gone to the Gustavo Aldereguia Lima hospital where the students were admitted. They would only have minor injuries and could leave the hospital on Tuesday.
