Five days to deliver to Morocco a military cable capable of withstanding nearly 1,100 °C
The United States has launched a solicitation to supply the Royal Air Forces with 500 feet, or 152 meters, of special electrical wiring. Intended for critical flight circuits, the equipment must withstand fire and be delivered within five days of the order.
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), responsible for Pentagon logistics, published procedure SPE7M1-26-T-348P on September 11. Companies have until September 21 to submit their prices for 500 feet of cable bearing reference M25038/1-6-9 and NSN number 6145-00-307-4349. The solicitation remains open on the DLA Internet Bid Board System.
The final destination indicated in the American document is “AMG DES FORCES ROYALES AIR,” at kilometer 7 of the El Jadida road in Casablanca. The equipment must first be delivered to a freight forwarder based in Sterling, Virginia.

The required schedule is particularly tight: the supplier will have only five days after receiving the order to deliver the lot. The cable is also classified as a “Critical Application Item” and must come from a manufacturer or product listed on the approved qualification lists.
A cable designed to withstand flames of nearly 1,100 °C
These requirements are explained by the nature of the equipment. The MIL-DTL-25038 standard officially covers “high-temperature, fire-resistant and flight-critical” electrical cables. The DLA technical data sheet specifies that they are intended for an aircraft’s essential circuits and emergency situations involving temporary exposure to flames reaching 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, or approximately 1,093 °C.
This is therefore not a simple cable intended for ground installations. The ordered reference belongs to a family designed for aeronautical functions whose failure could compromise flight safety.
The document does not, however, specify which Royal Air Forces aircraft will receive this lot. At this stage, it is impossible to link this purchase to the future Moroccan F-16 Block 72s, the C-130H transport aircraft or another aircraft in the fleet.

This solicitation nevertheless reveals a military procurement rarely detailed publicly: as part of an FMS sale to Morocco, the DLA is seeking a lot of wiring intended for critical flight circuits, with delivery required in just five days.
