FIFA Suspends CAF President Ahmad Ahmad Amid Corruption Allegations, Impacting Morocco

Accused of corruption, the president of the Confederation of African Football, Ahmad Ahmad, is now suspended by FIFA. Not good news for Morocco, seen as the Malagasy’s greatest ally.
The liaison between Ahmad Ahmad and Morocco has cost the Kingdom 200 million dirhams, including 150 million spent on the organization of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) by the Kingdom in 2018, reports the daily Assabah, adding that Ahmad had warmly thanked Morocco for the organization of this competition that several countries wanted to host.
Apart from the CHAN, Morocco has spent millions of dirhams in organizing the CAF General Assembly, without however earning anything, apart from the CHAN title that was granted to it, according to certain newspapers.
In addition, unwavering support for the Malagasy has cost the Kingdom some adversities that it could have avoided. Currently, the FRMF maintains complicated relations with powerful African federations, such as those of South Africa, Tunisia or Egypt, concludes the newspaper.
