Moroccans Bouchra Karboubi and Fatiha Jarmoumi have been appointed by FIFA to officiate at the 2022 U20 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Costa Rica next August.
Bouchra Karboubi and Fatiha Jarmoumi are the two Africans on the shortlist of video assistant referees (VAR) who will officiate during the final phase of the U20 Women’s World Cup, which will be held from August 10 to 28, 2022 in Costa Rica. These two referees are experienced. They officiated the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations held from January 9 to February 6, 2022 in Cameroon. They also officiated the Throne Cup final, which pitted AS FAR against Moghreb de Tétouan, in Agadir.
Eliminated by Senegal in the 4th round, the Lionesses of the Atlas will not participate in the 2022 U20 Women’s World Cup. Only Ghana and Nigeria will represent Africa in this biennial competition.
