FIFA Proposes Global Stadium Ban for Racist Fans Following Bulgaria-England Match

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) intends to crack down on racist behavior during matches. This decision comes after the shameful match between Bulgaria and England, where monkey chants, Nazi salutes and other scandalous gestures were made.

Spectators guilty of racist acts will now be banned from stadiums worldwide, suggested FIFA President Gianni Infantino, three days after the humiliating encounter between these two great football nations.

According to HuffPost, the FIFA President is saddened by the fact that such behavior still exists in 2019.

According to the same media, the Euro 2020 qualifying match between Bulgaria and England in Sofia was interrupted twice after these racist acts and chants targeting black players on the English team.

Deploring such situations, the head of FIFA goes on to demand that, in the face of these racist acts, the match be stopped. "We cannot let the racists win. Football must continue and we must punish these people."

To identify these racists, the Italian-Swiss is counting on the cameras in the stadium. "They must be arrested, expelled from the stadiums, no longer allowed to enter and legal proceedings must be initiated against them," he hammered before indicating that this sanction, taken in one country, should be extended to other sporting nations.

It should be noted that 6 Bulgarians were arrested during this match, while an 18-year-old Bulgarian was indicted and 4 other supporters were fined and banned from the stadium for 2 years.

Informed of these unfortunate acts, President Infantino had condemned the incidents on Tuesday, denouncing a "disease that seems to be getting worse in certain parts of the world" and focusing primarily on "the education of our young people, our children as well as those who are a little older" to fight racism, concludes the same source.
