FIFA Orders Saudi Club Al Nasr to Pay $4 Million for Wrongful Termination of Moroccan Striker

FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber has fined the Saudi club Al Nasr for the abusive termination of the contract of its former striker, Moroccan international Abderrazak Hamdallah.
The case dates back to November 2021, when the officials of the Saudi club unilaterally terminated the Moroccan’s contract, claiming that they had legal reasons justifying their decision.
This was followed by a dispute in which Abderrazzak Hamdallah had seized FIFA to claim the amount of the release clause stipulated in his contract. The international football body has just delivered its verdict: the Saudi club is ordered to pay the Moroccan player around 4 million euros.
Sources close to the case indicated that Al Nasr should request the reasons for the verdict within 10 days and will then have 21 days to file an appeal. The Saudis will most likely appeal the decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
