FIFA Chief: Arab Nations, Including Morocco, Could Host Future World Cup

FIFA President Gianni Infantino discusses the possibility of hosting the World Cup in an Arab country like Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
"It is possible to host the World Cup in an Arab country, such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, which have successfully organized the CAN, and Morocco, which has submitted a bid to host the global event," Gianni Infantino told MBC, adding that it remains to be determined whether the global sporting event will be organized every two years or every four years.
Commending the successful organization of the Arab Cup by Qatar, the FIFA President affirms that Arab countries are eligible to host the World Cup. "I received many calls during the Arab Cup asking that the competition be organized more often, and I support that. Arab countries are eligible to host the World Cup. The Arab public deserves the best," he said, stressing that the competition was successful in all respects.
Egypt had submitted its candidacy for the 2010 World Cup, but received no votes, finishing third behind Morocco (10) and South Africa (14). If Rabat and Cairo decide to submit a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup, they will have to face fierce competition with joint bids such as "Spain-Portugal", "England-Ireland-Northern Ireland-Scotland-Wales", "Bulgaria-Greece-Romania-Serbia", and "Uruguay-Argentina-Chile-Paraguay".
