FFF President Noël Le Graët Accused of Sexual Harassment by Football Agent

Long before the controversial remarks of Noël Le Graët on the French international Zinedine Zidane, the player agent Sonia Souid had delivered a poignant testimony against the president of the French Football Federation (FFF) whom she accuses of sexual harassment.

Passionate about football, player agent Sonia Souid only dreamed of one thing: doing her job and promoting women’s football. In 2013, she met the president of the FFF and claims to have been the victim of sexual harassment from the latter. Noël Le Graët had wanted her to meet the coach Brigitte Henriques in charge of women’s football at the FFF, in his apartment. The meeting between her and Sonia will not take place. She arrives at the boss of French football, but the coach is not there.

"I am disconcerted. It’s still the president. I’m disappointed. I must have changed color. I left, telling him that I was going to join my fiancé. He let me leave. Afterwards, he called me regularly to invite me to dinner... ", she explains to L’Équipe. "I have voice messages, and a few text messages: ’Are you available tomorrow evening? I insist.’ Or he writes to me: ’I miss you.’ He wants to invite me to matches: excuses to see me," she continues.

"He wants us to meet in his Parisian apartment. He says he does it regularly, that it’s more convenient for him, more confidential. I accept. [...] I was 28 at the time, he was 72. He should have had that respect. He never looked at me as an agent but as a candy to be devoured. To speak vulgarly, he looked at me as two breasts and an ass. He never made me a concrete proposal. Except when I’m at his place, when he made me understand that he would like me to end up in his bed," recounted the agent.
