Ferry Searches Surge as Morocco-Spain Maritime Routes Reopen

Searches for ferries between Spain and Morocco have tripled just one week after the reopening of maritime borders between the two countries.
Ferry searches have tripled a week after the resumption of maritime traffic between Spain and Morocco, according to data from Ferryhopper, the global ferry comparison and booking platform. Searches for routes between the two countries have also increased over the past week, 25 times more compared to the same period in March, reports Europa Press.
The Algeciras-Tanger Med line is the most in demand on the Ferryhopper platform. It is followed in the search trends on this platform by the Almería-Nador and Tarifa-Tanger ville links. In addition to these routes, the Motril-Al Hoceima, Motril-Nador, Barcelona-Nador and Barcelona-Tanger Med lines are also offered on the platform.
Maritime links have resumed since Tuesday, April 12 for passengers without vehicles, and last Monday, passengers with vehicles have also boarded the first ferries to Morocco, after two years of border closures for health reasons.
