Fenerbahçe’s En-Nesyri Struggles to Find Form, Mourinho Defends Moroccan Striker

Youssef En-Nesyri is under fire for his unconvincing performances since his arrival at Fenerbahçe. José Mourinho, the Turkish club’s coach, has tried to defend the Moroccan striker, whom he has invited to redouble his efforts to raise his level of play.
Youssef En-Nesyri has been in poor form since his arrival at Fenerbahçe. The former Sevilla striker is struggling to find his feet in his new club, arousing the anger of Turkish supporters and the press. Despite his team’s victory over Union Saint-Gilloise (2-1) in the Europa League last Thursday, the Atlas Lion was criticized for his modest performance.
But José Mourinho tried to justify the Moroccan player’s performance in this match. "En-Nesyri’s performance was similar to that of the team. Although he was not exceptional, his attitude was positive. The team was not at its best level, but it still managed to win," said the Portuguese technician.
He continued: "En-Nesyri contributed, which allowed us to bring in Dzeko in good conditions. We hope that En-Nesyri will score, and he too is looking to find the back of the net." The Moroccan international arrived at Fenerbahçe this summer from Sevilla for 20 million euros.
