Far-Right Vox Party Slams Ceuta’s Ramadan Holiday Addition, Accuses PP of ’Moroccanization’

The president of the far-right party Vox in Ceuta, Juan Sergio Redondo, disapproves of the introduction of Eid al-Fitr as a public holiday in the city’s work calendar and accuses the Popular Party (PP) of continuing to work for the "Moroccanization" of Ceuta.
For Redondo, this change in the work calendar is further proof to justify "the use of the term ’pro-Moroccan’ towards President Juan Vivas (PP) as well as the rest of the Assembly groups." Denouncing the introduction of this holiday in the work calendar, the president of Vox in Ceuta warned that the party "will firmly oppose initiatives favoring Muslims" and will fight them "publicly" both locally and nationally, reports Ok Diario.

The Vox leader in Ceuta explained that his party voted in favor of approving the last two work calendars due to the PP’s promise to work for the inclusion of St. Daniel’s Day, the patron saint of Ceuta, as a public holiday in the city’s calendar. "This year, we did not believe the lies of the PP," said Redondo, denouncing the introduction of a second public holiday "imposed by Morocco" in the calendar.
Redondo also demands that the official work calendar be adjusted "to the political identity, history and traditions" of Ceuta, "which is none other than that of the Spanish nation." "Each religious confession will have its public holiday to celebrate its festivities, but that does not mean that they must appear on the official work calendar," the Vox leader specified.
