Far-Right Vox Party Demands Morocco Recognize Spanish Sovereignty Over Ceuta and Melilla

The Vox party has demanded before the Senate "the revocation of the border reopening agreement until Morocco formally and expressly recognizes the undisputed sovereignty of Spain over Ceuta and Melilla and all Spanish territories in North Africa".
The far-right formation has presented a series of proposals before the Senate to improve the economic and social conditions of Ceuta and Melilla. In particular, it has requested "the revocation of the border reopening agreement until Morocco formally and expressly recognizes the undisputed sovereignty of Spain over Ceuta and Melilla and all Spanish territories in North Africa, its airspace and its territorial waters".

Vox has also demanded the suppression of the visa exemption for Moroccans from Tetouan and Nador, and the strengthening of the presence of the State in Ceuta and Melilla, by increasing the number of police and Civil Guard agents deployed in the two autonomous cities, and by making a military contingent available urgently. The party also demands to promote the construction of an airport in Ceuta and more state investments in the city’s port, tourism and industry.
