Far-Right Vlaams Belang Leads in Flanders as Belgian Political Landscape Shifts

While Vlaams Belang remains the leading party in Flanders in terms of voting intentions at 28%, a slight increase compared to last December (+0.7 point), Ecolo could not maintain its third place in Wallonia. This is indicated by the results of the Grand Barometer Le Soir-RTL-TVI-Ipsos-Het Laatste Nieuws-VTM.
According to this poll, the PS retains the top spot in Wallonia, gaining 1.7 points compared to the previous barometer published in December (25.5% of voting intentions against 23.8%). The MR shows consistency. The party is once again second, with 19.6% of voting intentions (20.5% in December).
The PTB, on the other hand, is making strong progress. Ahead of Ecolo, it takes third place. The Marxist party recorded 18.6% of voting intentions (+2.1 points), compared to 15.5% (-1.7 points compared to December) for the Greens. As for the cdH, it has again recorded a decline (7.5% of voting intentions). The DéFI party, for its part, is experiencing a slight progression, thus exceeding the 5% mark, with 5.1%.
In Brussels, the PS (with sp.a) is ahead of Ecolo-Groen. The Socialists recorded 20.5% of voting intentions, while the Greens came out with 20.3%, followed by the MR (17.6%), the PTB (12.2%), DéFi (10%) and the cdH (3.8%).
Vlaams Belang remains the leading party in the north of the country with 27.3% of voting intentions. They are followed by the N-VA, second, at 20.7%, with (-1.4 points) and the CD&V, third with 11.7% of voting intentions (+0.3 points). Open Vld in slight progression (10.3%, +0.4 points) followed by sp.a (9.6%), PVDA-PTB (9.3%) and Groen (8.8%) close the podium.
