Far-Right Spanish Leader Demands Deportation of Undocumented Moroccans Amid Coronavirus Crisis

The state of alert announced by the Spanish government following the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic has sharpened the fangs of populist formations. The leader of the Spanish far-right party Vox has called for the repatriation of thousands of Moroccans in an irregular situation in the country.
For Santiago Abascal, himself affected by the coronavirus, their presence is all the more unwelcome as they "benefit from a large part of the country’s resources, enjoying free comprehensive medical coverage without any counterpart".
The political leader has therefore called on the Spanish government to send all Moroccan nationals in an illegal situation back to their country of origin.
Santiago Pascal also took the opportunity to criticize the Moroccan government’s decision to close the borders with Spain, particularly the border crossings of Melilla and Sebta.
