Fake COVID-19 Test Scam Targets Moroccan Expats in Spain

The trafficking of fake Coronavirus screening certificates is causing a major controversy within the Moroccan community in Barcelona. This document, required by the Moroccan authorities to access the national territory, would be sold at a derisory price.
For 20 or sometimes 50 euros, many Moroccan nationals in the Catalan region have obtained a fake PCR test document, attesting to the absence of Coronavirus, reports the site Assahifa.
The operation, which consists of scanning an authentic negative result and superimposing the person’s name and a recent date, is not a first in the region, say Moroccans living in Barcelona. However, the forgers are careful to keep the seals intact, these same sources specify.
The same source adds that several Moroccans living abroad have confirmed having used a fake Coronavirus screening certificate to cross the maritime and air borders of the kingdom.
