Explosive Device Found at African Football League Final in Pretoria

An explosive device was found during the inaugural final of the African Football League between Wydad Casablanca and Mamelodi Sundowns, won by the South Africans (2-0). The police arrested a suspect.
A surprising discovery at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, where Sunday’s final of the first edition of the African Football League (AFL), the brand new competition of the Confederation of African Football established in partnership with FIFA, took place. A device resembling an explosive was discovered by the police following an alert from supporters, according to local media reports. In a viral video, the police can be seen holding the device while removing cables from the seats located under the stands.
The device was seized and the suspected bomber, Charles Max, who seemed to have accreditation for the match, his designation being "Ceremonies Performance Crew", was arrested. On the web, some Internet users wonder if the suspect was not rather employed as a pyrotechnician, a qualified person in the use of fireworks.
Mamelodi Sundowns made history by winning the first trophy of the African Football League (AFL) against Wydad Casablanca (2-0) who had beaten them in the first leg final (2-1).
