Eve Branson, Mother of Virgin Founder and Morocco Philanthropist, Dies at 96 from COVID-19

The British Eve Branson, founder and director of an eponymous foundation that carried out humanitarian actions in Morocco, died at the age of 96 from Covid-19.
Morocco has lost one of its benefactors. With the Eve Branson Foundation, the deceased had worked to improve the quality of life of women and girls in the Atlas Mountains. The organization had provided them with the necessary means to enable them to become economically autonomous and capable of generating income for themselves and their families.
Supported by her son Richard Branson, founder of Virgin, she had launched training programs for the benefit of women in several villages in the High Atlas region around Marrakech. These women learned to knit, make craft products, and the foundation helped them gain markets. These humanitarian actions had earned Mrs. Branson a distinction. In 2015, Morocco had decorated her with the insignia of the Alaouite Order of the Officer.
