Epic Moroccan Mountain Bike Race Returns: 400 Riders to Tackle 639km Titan Desert Challenge

The Titan Desert MTB event is returning to Morocco where it will be held from October 10 to 15. About 400 riders will participate and will have to cover 639 kilometers and 7,629 meters of elevation gain in six stages.
Riders will have to cross two initial mountainous stages, then follow up with a "marathon" stage without any navigation assistance before finishing their race in the Merzouga desert, on sandy tracks and rocky sections, the organizers said in a statement.
Josep Betalú, with four victories to his name, Julen Zubero and Roberto Bou, as well as former professional cyclists Melcior Mauri, Abraham Olano and Sylvain Chavanel, are the favorites in the men’s category. In the women’s category, Ramona Gabriel, winner in 2016 and 2018, and Silvia Roura, winner of the Titan Series Saudi Arabia and second in the Titan Desert Almería in November 2020, will stand out from the rest, AS believes.
