Eid al-Fitr 2026: The Grand Mosque of Paris sets the date for the "Night of Doubt

The meeting will begin at 5:30 pm, on the 29th day of Ramadan. The religious authorities have specified that they will take into account the direct observations of the new moon as well as the scientific data to validate the official end of the fasting month.

The institution has also communicated the amounts of the mandatory alms for the year 2026-1447/H. The Zakat al-Fitr is set at 7 euros per dependent person, while the minimum Fidyah is 7 euros per day of compensation. The procedures for paying them are available on the mosque’s website.

For the day of the celebration, the Grand Mosque of Paris plans to organize two prayers at 8:00 am and 8:45 am in order to respond to the expected large influx. In this context, it urges believers, in this last decade of Ramadan, to "multiply good deeds".
