Eid al-Adha Morocco suspension risk livestock prices crisis
Faced with speculators and soaring prices on the eve of Eid Al-Adha in Morocco, the Progress and Socialism Party (PPS vigorously calls on the government. By recalling the previous royal suspension of the ritual, the political party revives the hypothesis of a new cancellation.
In an official statement, the PPS political bureau demanded firm government action against monopolistic practices in livestock markets. The party is alarmed by the damage caused by "crisis merchants" on citizens’ purchasing power. To make an impact, the leaders deliberately brought back the call from King Mohammed VI banning slaughter during a past celebration.
