Eid al-Adha 2026 Morocco Date Official Announcement
Moroccans will celebrate Eid al-Adha on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The announcement was made public Sunday evening following confirmation of the moon sighting.
The Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs has ended the suspense. The institution officially declared that the Festival of Sacrifice will take place on May 27, allowing citizens to prepare accordingly.
This decision is based on the religious calendar. The government statement specifies that the crescent moon was indeed sighted on the evening of Sunday, May 17.
This visual observation therefore makes Monday, May 18 the first day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah of the year 1447 of the Hijra, mechanically fixing the date of Eid al-Adha.
