Egyptian National Sentenced for Counterfeiting Moroccan Currency in Tangier

The criminal chamber at the Court of Appeal of Tanger sentenced an Egyptian national to 6 months in prison, for his alleged involvement in a case of counterfeiting banknotes and their circulation.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, the individual was arrested in possession of the sum of 14,000 dirhams in counterfeit 200 dirham bills.
Residing legally in Tangier, the man was caught in the act of circulating counterfeit banknotes, before being taken into custody, the statement adds.
A search of his home led to the seizure of counterfeit banknotes worth 20,000 dirhams, two printers, accessories for cutting paper as well as computer equipment.
