Egypt to Fast-Track Moroccan Exports in New Trade Agreement

A joint meeting between Ryad Mezzour, Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade, and his Egyptian counterpart was held in Rabat, during which important decisions were made.
During this meeting, the two parties decided to "deploy all efforts to increase the volume and value of Moroccan exports to Egypt, particularly Moroccan products such as automobiles," but also to "set up a Fast Track express lane on the Egyptian side to facilitate and accelerate access for Moroccan exports," according to the Moroccan Ministry of Commerce and Industry in a press release.
A "B2B business and economic partnership forum in specific sectors will also be organized to encourage the establishment of commercial partnerships and business networks between private sector players in the two countries, in the Arab Republic of Egypt in April 2025." During this meeting, "the importance of strengthening trade relations between the two brotherly countries was also emphasized, building on the promising trade and investment opportunities available to the two countries and the varied preferential legal framework that unites them," the same source said.
According to Omar Hajji, Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry and Trade in charge of foreign trade, the two parties had a series of fruitful discussions, during which they addressed the current figures and future prospects of trade relations between the two countries, "emphasizing the reduction of the trade deficit that we are currently observing." According to him, there is a "strong will on the part of our Egyptian brothers, as the need for a visit by Moroccan exporters to the Arab Republic of Egypt in the coming weeks was emphasized."
My visit to Morocco "stems from the friendly relations between the two countries and reflects the depth of the strong and solid ties that strengthen cooperation in the economic, social, cultural and other fields between the two nations," said Hassan El-Khatib, Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade.
