A note on the framework of the continuous monitoring procedure has been published by the Ministry of National Education, for the 2021-2022 school year. A new system that will detect the difficulties faced by students and remedy them in order to guarantee equal opportunities.

According to the ministry’s press release, this measure is part of the implementation of the provisions of the framework law 51-17 on the reform of the education, training and scientific research system, more specifically the measures of project No. 12 relating to "the improvement and development of the evaluation, school support and examination system".

The new system includes a revision of the method of counting the continuous control grades and the annual average grade both for promotion to the next grade and for the final years of each cycle, while taking into account the scores of the unified controls in the planning of support and remedial activities for learning difficulties and gaps identified in students at the level of each establishment.

The measures contained in the note do not bring any change or modification to the subjects of the unified exams at the provincial, regional and national levels, nor to their coefficients or the dedicated hours, including the subject of Islamic education, which has always been one of the components of the provincial Arabic language exam for obtaining the primary school certificate.

In addition, the ministerial note emphasizes the establishment of a unified control each semester at the level of each establishment, with the exception of the second semester of the final year of each educational cycle, in accordance with the rules defined in the ministry’s document.
