EasyJet suspends two routes to Morocco

The first suspension will affect travelers between Basel-Mulhouse and Tangier. No easyJet flight is currently scheduled on this route from 20 January to 11 February 2027, or just over three weeks.

The airline will also suspend its route between London-Southend and Marrakech from 10 January to 8 February. This interruption will last nearly a month, according to the report published by AeroRoutes after comparing the schedules filed by easyJet on 14 June and 23 August 2026.

At this stage, these are not permanent cancellations. The two Moroccan routes are scheduled to resume after the indicated periods. They are part of a broad series of adjustments decided by easyJet for the winter, affecting several dozen European services.

Most of these routes will be interrupted for approximately four weeks, mainly between January and February. Others, however, will disappear for the entire season or be permanently withdrawn from the network.

A pause amid rapid expansion in Morocco

These two suspensions come as easyJet is significantly strengthening its presence in Morocco. In April, the airline inaugurated its first African base in Marrakech, where three Airbus A320 aircraft are now stationed.

The carrier is targeting four million seats during the base’s first year of operation. Its development is accompanied by new services and the conversion of several seasonal routes into year-round connections, notably between Lille, Strasbourg and Marrakech.

easyJet has also scheduled new flights to Agadir and Essaouira for winter 2026-2027. The interruptions of the Basel–Tangier and London-Southend–Marrakech routes therefore appear to be temporary adjustments within an overall strengthened Moroccan network.

Travelers wishing to use these two routes between January and February will nevertheless have to choose different dates, another departure airport or a competing airline during the periods concerned.
