EasyJet Flight Diverted to Portugal After Captain’s Mid-Air Injury

An EasyJet plane flying from Luton, a town in eastern England, to Agadir, was diverted to Faro airport an hour and a half from arrival.
An EasyJet flight bound for Agadir, Morocco from Luton, had to make an emergency landing at Faro airport in Portugal on April 10 after the captain suffered a dislocated shoulder, reports the British newspaper The Daily Mail. It was the co-pilot who landed the plane safely at Faro airport. No material damage was reported.
"EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY2213 from Luton to Agadir on April 10 was diverted to Faro as the captain required medical assistance. The first officer landed the aircraft in accordance with standard operating procedures and the captain was met by ambulance staff on arrival," confirmed an EasyJet spokesperson. He apologized to the company’s low-cost customers for the inconvenience caused by this unexpected incident. "The company places the safety of passengers and crews first," he stressed.
