Dutch-Moroccan Teen Killed in Morocco Car Crash; Community Mourns

A 19-year-old woman from Boxtel, the Netherlands, unfortunately lost her life in a car accident that occurred in Morocco. According to the police, her mother and brother were also in the car at the time of the accident and were injured. The Moroccan community of Boxtel is to gather this Friday to pay tribute to the young woman at the Al Fath mosque.
The accident occurred on January 6 in northern Morocco, between the towns of Dar el Kebdani and Ben Tayeb. Three people were also injured, including the mother and brother of the deceased young woman. The two cars involved collided head-on in a bend.
"This has had a considerable impact on the Muslim community," said a local official to the local media Omroepbrabant. "Both the Moroccan and Turkish communities in Boxtel have been deeply affected. The community is very close-knit in Boxtel, so when something like this happens, everyone is affected."
The local official spoke to many people and describes the accident as terrible. He was also deeply moved by this tragedy. "The death of a 19-year-old girl is an unbearable pain for the family." The young woman was buried in Morocco.
According to the official, the young woman’s family is already back home. This Friday, prayers in her memory as well as a sadaqa are planned.
