Dutch Mocro Maffia Drug Kingpin Arrested in Paris by Elite French Police Unit

Under a European arrest warrant issued by the Dutch authorities since August 2024, a member of the Mocro Maffia, the Moroccan mafia specialized in drug trafficking and organized crime in the Netherlands and Belgium, was arrested on Tuesday in Paris for his involvement in an international drug trafficking operation.

The end of the run for a member of the Mocro Maffia. After receiving information about his location, five members of the GIGN’s Observation Research Force, the elite unit of the gendarmerie, with scarves on their heads, arrived on Tuesday in the Barbès neighborhood of Paris (18th arrondissement) and proceeded to arrest Saïd A, a 35-year-old Dutchman considered an important member of the Mocro Maffia, in a snack bar. The arrest took place at 3:20 pm. The French gendarmes handcuffed him in a few seconds before putting him in an unmarked vehicle, reports Le Parisien.

Considered by the Dutch justice system as a leading producer of synthetic drugs, particularly "Crystal Meth," a very dangerous substance responsible for devastation in the United States and Europe, Saïd is the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by the Dutch authorities for his involvement in an international drug trafficking operation since August 2024. In Spain, the thirty-year-old is suspected of kidnapping accompanied by acts of torture and brutality. Considered a top target, a Mocro Maffia leader, he has been in direct contact with Mexican cartels for several years. After being presented to a French magistrate, he will be extradited to the Netherlands.

Why did he choose the Paris destination? Saïd has ties to Parisian traffickers, the investigators believe. According to several specialized sources, the Mocro Maffia already has contacts in French ports, particularly in Le Havre, the main entry point for cocaine into French territory.
