Dutch-Backed Orange Corners Morocco Selects 15 Startups for Innovation Program

Fifteen new structures have been selected to participate in the second edition of the Orange corners Morroco Program, strongly supported by five Dutch companies. In addition to strengthening their skills in several areas, these selected structures will receive material support and have access to an Innovation Fund, with funding of 16.5 million DH.
120 project leaders initially, 15 will finally be chosen after going through several stages. According to L’Economiste, the initiative is an incubator initiated by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Africa and the MENA region.
The program, the newspaper reveals, is set up in the premises of the Moroccan Center for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship and is aligned with the Netherlands’ mission to make a positive contribution to Morocco’s economic growth.
The 15 startups selected to take part in this innovation event have gone through several stages. This involves an initial analysis followed by a booth-camp for a 3-day accelerated training and a defense before a jury.
The first 15 startups have already created 22 jobs in just a few months, 12 of which have been assigned to women, according to details provided by the newspaper.
With a capital of 16.5 million DH, the Orange corners innovation Fund (OCIF) has been created to support the best innovative projects of the startups incubated by the Program.
