Drug Cartel Hitmen Target Spain’s Costa del Sol in Deadly Turf War

Settling scores is becoming commonplace between the various drug mafias present on the European continent. These acts are generally perpetrated by serial killers hired for large sums of money.
After Belgium and the Netherlands, it is now Spain’s turn to experience a resurgence of this type of operation, during the second half of the decade. The strengthening of security measures is behind the exodus to the Iberian peninsula.
In Marbella, on the Costa del Sol, six individuals involved in drug trafficking networks have been assassinated since last September, including 1 Bulgarian, 1 British, 1 French, 1 Moroccan and 2 Spanish nationals.
This rise in violence has prompted a local newspaper to contact a hitman, a French national of Moroccan origin, whose first murder dates back 10 years.
According to the newspaper, which has chosen Jamal as his alias, the individual is part of a drug mafia and is in charge of the transfer of goods and money, while keeping an eye on the movements of other criminal networks.
As for the murderous operations assigned to him, which are often carried out alone, he said he receives between 15,000 and 60,000 euros per act, depending on the level of risk and difficulty.
