New drones for the Moroccan army

Since 2021, Morocco has shown interest in drones. The kingdom has acquired various models from China, Israel and Turkey and is about to place an order for new Turkish drones.
Morocco continues to strengthen its defense capabilities and is working to modernize its fleet of drones for greater effectiveness and efficiency in intelligence, surveillance and combat missions. Since 2021, Morocco has acquired several drones, including the Bayraktar TB2 from the Turkish company Baykar, and would now be interested in the Bayraktar Kizilelma, with supersonic capabilities and stealthy characteristics, and the Bayraktar TB3.
The Royal Armed Forces have an increased preference for drones because they present a certain advantage, not only in terms of deterrence and responsiveness, but also and above all in terms of operating costs. Morocco does not skimp on the means to train its military personnel in the operation and maintenance of drones, both on site and abroad.
To avoid relying on its suppliers, Morocco has established partnerships with international companies to produce weapons and drones locally. An ambitious project that aims to strengthen its autonomy, create specific jobs and boost the economy. The Moroccan government is committed to developing the military industry sector, including the manufacture of weapons and ammunition as well as the maintenance of military aircraft.
