Dozens of Moroccan Teens Swim to Ceuta Amid Border Crackdown

At least 21 Moroccan minors, mostly aged 13-14, joined Ceuta by swimming on Wednesday, taking advantage of the fog covering the coast.
More than 300 Moroccan minors are currently staying in the minors’ centers of Ceuta. Despite the closure of the Tarajal border, nearly 110 have illegally entered the autonomous city this year. In June, 28 minors arrived in Ceuta and already more than 30 have done so in July, according to sources from the government delegation to Ok Diario.
More than 75% of the minors arriving in the autonomous city are of Moroccan nationality. After this entry of at least 20 Moroccan minors on Wednesday, the Moroccan security forces and the Civil Guard will further strengthen migration control in this area of the southern bay of Ceuta in the coming days, due to the particular weather conditions (fog and strong wind) that will persist at least until Sunday.
