Doping Scandal and Boxer’s Death Rock Moroccan Boxing Federation

Moroccan boxing has been going through dark days lately. The reason is the participation of a Moroccan boxer suspended for doping in a tournament in Agadir and the suspicious death of another during a tournament in Safi.
The unease experienced by the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation is not to the liking of some of its members. To this end, they have requested the opening of an investigation into a senior official of the Federation, who is also a member of its Executive Committee.
He is accused of having authorized the Moroccan boxer, Hamza Barbari, suspended for doping, to participate in a professional tournament in Agadir, reports the newspaper Al Massae. According to the same source, the Professionalization Commission is also involved in this case.
In addition, several members of the Boxing Federation’s Executive Committee had not been informed of the participation of the suspended boxer. This less than flattering situation adds to the one concerning the suspicious death of the boxer, Hamza Aït Moussa, during a tournament organized in Safi by the incriminated official. For the time being, nothing has leaked out of the investigation report opened in this direction.
