Donors Fund Trip for Moroccan Toddler with Rare Disease to Visit Family

The El Rocio Brotherhood has agreed to cover the round-trip travel expenses of Ayoub, the two-year-old Moroccan boy suffering from a rare disease, and his mother, Bouchra. The two will be able to see the other family members in Morocco after two years of treatment in Malaga.

Bouchra Harrachi, 39, and her son Ayoub, around 3 years old, will be able to go to Nador to meet their loved ones. This, thanks to the generosity of the El Rocio Brotherhood, which responded to the call launched by the Lagunillas Cruz Verde de Malaga association to help this mother and her son suffering from a rare disease.

The Brotherhood will cover the Malaga-Nador-Malaga round-trip flight for Bouchra and Ayoub. They will leave Malaga on February 23 and will be back a week later, reports La Opinion de Malaga. Bouchra will finally be able to see her two other sons and her husband who have remained in Morocco for almost three years while she has been at Ayoub’s bedside in Malaga.

"Curro López, head of the Lagunillas Association, informed us of the situation and the El Rocío Brotherhood decided to fulfill the wish of the mother and child to reunite with their loved ones," said Brother Javier Martín on Wednesday, specifying that the brotherhood’s donation will allow Ayoub to travel with important equipment, as he needs special milk during his stay in Nador.

As for Bouchra, she will also receive a small gesture from the brotherhood, as she is without means of subsistence in Malaga where she should spend a lot of time, awaiting her son’s kidney transplant, and even after. Bouchra lives in an apartment offered by a generous anonymous landlord and receives food thanks to the Lagunillas Association and the ASAEC NGO in Carranque.
