Has donkey meat been discreetly disposed of in Souss-Massa?
The discovery of donkey remains has caused a strong emotion in the Souss-Massa region. Several residents fear the existence of a clandestine slaughter circuit. On site, the authorities have launched a preliminary investigation to determine the origin of these remains and the circumstances.
On Thursday, citizens discovered the remains of slaughtered donkey heads in a vacant lot in Khmis Aït Amira. Two heads as well as intestines were found exposed in the vicinity of the province of Chtouka Aït Baha. This situation has caused great consternation among the population and reinforces the hypothesis of a clandestine slaughter activity in the area.
The concern is particularly strong regarding the possible commercialization of this meat. Several residents fear that these products may be intended for consumption through fast food circuits or certain butchers. They denounce criminal practices and consider that this situation represents a real danger to public health. They are calling for urgent intervention by the authorities to identify those responsible.
The local authorities and the competent services went to the site as soon as the facts were reported to initiate the first investigations.
