Dolphin Deaths in Ceuta Waters Spark Investigation into Moroccan Fishing Practices

The Center for the Study and Conservation of Marine Animals (CECAM) announced on Sunday the discovery of a dead dolphin and a dead globicephalus in the usual fishing area of Moroccans in the waters near Ceuta.
CECAM activists caught four Moroccan fishing boats in Spanish waters as they were about to check the presence of a globicephalus with cut fins that they had been alerted to. On the spot, they also discovered a lifeless dolphin.
The members of this conservation association suspect the Moroccans of being behind these latest animal deaths in the bay of Ceuta, where they would be using fishing gear harmful to the environment and marine life.
CECAM says it is concerned about the increasing number of dolphins found dead in recent weeks on the beaches of Ceuta, victims, it is said, of illegal fishing practices by Moroccans.
