New Direct Flight Connects Madeira’s Funchal to Marrakech, Morocco

The Spanish airline Binter proceeded on Sunday to the inauguration of a new flight between Funchal and Marrakech. The first passengers were welcomed with water jets, as required by tradition.
It is an "ATR72" aircraft, carrying 26 passengers from the company that has ensured this inaugural flight. Binter will operate two flights per week starting until September 25, with biweekly frequencies on Thursdays and Sundays, between the capital of the island of Madeira and the ochre city.
The launch of this route is the result of joint work between Binter and the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), said Borja Bethencourt Munoz, in charge of communication within the company.
These remarks were confirmed by Zakaria Harti, head of the operations department at Marrakech - Menara International Airport, stressing that the opening of this air route reflects the enthusiasm of international airlines for Marrakech-Menara airport, indicating that this route is likely to contribute to boosting tourism between these two world tourist destinations.
