Dijon Midfielder Mounir Chouiar Set to Debut for Morocco National Team

Now present on the extended list of coach Vahid Halilhodzic, the young midfielder from Dijon (20 years old), Mounir Chouiar, could make his debut with the Atlas Lions in October. Like the other dual nationals in the squad, he has chosen to answer the call of blood.
For the first time, the Moroccan-French-Mauritanian international, Mounir Chouiar (20 years old), could wear the jersey of the Atlas Lions of Morocco on the occasion of the friendly matches against Libya on October 11, and Gabon four days later. "He is on the extended list, we should be quickly informed of his intentions, but we would like to have him with us," confirmed Vahid Halilhodzic, the coach of Morocco, to L’Équipe.
Born in France, with a Mauritanian father and a Moroccan mother, the former RC Lens player (Ligue 2), who joined DFCO during the summer transfer window, has already played for France in the under-16, 18, 19 and 20 categories.
With his three nationalities, Mounir Chouiar is therefore eligible for the three selections. According to lequipe.fr, the Dijonnais has agreed to defend the country of origin of his mother, despite the pressure he is facing from Mauritania.
