New developments for the Kénitra - Marrakech TGV

The National Railway Office has launched a 104 million dirham tender for the connection of three electrical substations, a major technical step for the extension of the high-speed line to Marrakech.

The ONCF, through its LGV projects division, plans to connect three strategic substations to the 225 kV network of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE). These infrastructures are essential to ensure the continuous power supply of the future railway section.

The construction site is divided into three geographical areas: Benslimane, Settat and Benguerir. In Benslimane, a 16 km line will be drawn, while 18 km and 19 km overhead lines will be deployed from the Settat and Benguerir electrical substations respectively to power the facilities, Médias24 reports.

The overall budget envelope is estimated at 104 million dirhams excluding taxes. The selected service providers will have a total execution period of 14 months to complete these high-voltage works, including the installation of single-circuit lines.
