Desperate, the three Moroccans stranded in Ceuta for a year, far from their families and loved ones, and not knowing when the borders will reopen, tried to reach Morocco by swimming. Two of them, exhausted, had serious difficulties staying afloat and were rescued by Civil Guard agents. They were then taken care of by the Red Cross, which quickly went to the scene. As for the third, he was escorted back by the Civil Guard to the migrant detention center.
The three Moroccans used tires to try to stay afloat. Before them, several other compatriots had proceeded in this way to reach the kingdom and find their families.
For the moment, the borders with Morocco remain closed. For its part, the Government Delegation of Ceuta is working for a new repatriation of Moroccans stranded on its territory.
