Derichebourg Exits Moroccan Waste Management Market, Shifts Focus to Europe

The recycling group Derichebourg has announced the sale of its 51% stake in the holding company that groups together all of its household waste collection and service activities in Morocco.
The group had won a contract in 2014 to manage the household waste collection of two districts of Marrakech, and another in 2015 for the waste of part of the city of Rabat.
This decision to sell the holding company, Derichebourg AD development, is part of "the continuation of its growth strategy on the European market," according to Le Figaro.
The Group says it is "particularly proud to have, alongside its local partner, put its technical expertise at the service of the inhabitants of the main local authorities in the country over the past five years."
According to the newspaper, this sale should not have a significant impact on the group’s financial results. "The net impact of the 2019 activity result and the result of the sale of activities in Morocco will be insignificant on the group’s pre-tax result." Derichebourg is selling its business in Morocco to focus on the European market.
