Delivery App Glovo Faces Boycott Over Controversial Morocco Map

Activists have called on social media to boycott a Spanish company that displays a map of Morocco amputated from its Sahara.
By adopting a map of Morocco amputated from its Sahara, the Spanish company Glovo, specialized in ordering and delivering food in Morocco, provoked the anger of Moroccan Internet users. "It’s a provocative scene as I was following an order in Laâyoune on the Glovo app... Those who manage this company in Morocco must correct this," fumes a customer of the company on X (ex-Twitter).
A Moroccan Internet user cries out in outrage: "I don’t understand how the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) has allowed this company to work in Morocco when it is disseminating an erroneous and incomplete map of the Kingdom of Morocco on its websites and programs." Same tone with another Internet user: "It is necessary to regulate this, because it is unacceptable that they benefit from the benefits of Morocco and publish on their sites what harms us."
Hicham Senoussi, an active social media user on X, recommends thinking before placing an order on Glovo. "Think before ordering on Glovo, there’s not just Glovo in Morocco... There are Moroccan and foreign companies that respect the Moroccan citizen by respecting the legitimate borders of the Kingdom of Morocco," he suggests. And to add: "They have drawn a line dividing the Sahara from Morocco, which means they do not recognize the Moroccanness of the Sahara and operate in the Moroccan Saharan cities."
