Deadly Paint Thinner Cocktail Claims 4 Lives in Tetouan, Morocco

Following the consumption of a drink made of paint thinner, four young people died. This is the latest tragedy to hit the city of Tetouan.
These young people, including two minors, lost their lives after consuming a mixture of drinks during a "boozy" gathering, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
These young people were traditional consumers of this mixture, which costs less than regular alcoholic beverages, the newspaper reports. According to the first elements of the police investigation, they showed signs of severe intoxication upon admission to the emergency room where they were placed in intensive care. Four of them did not survive, due to the serious damage caused by the liquid in their internal organs, the same source reports.
Currently, a police investigation is underway to determine the real components of this toxic liquid, the source of supply, the circumstances of this tragedy, and also to find out if these young people were preparing the mixture themselves or buying it ready-made.
It should be recalled that this tragedy comes at a time when the DGSN services are waging a fierce battle against the marketing of adulterated or fraudulent beverages, through the "clean hands" operation, which has uncovered an entire network of marketing non-compliant beverages. In addition, establishments known in Casablanca, Marrakech and other cities of the kingdom have been closed and "barons" of this trade have also been identified.
