David Papot Retains IBA Super-Welterweight Title, Defeats Bilel Jkitou in 12-Round Bout

The French boxer of Moroccan origin, Bilel Jkitou, was beaten by the Frenchman David Papot on Friday, November 25, thus losing his chance to conquer the IBA super-welterweight world boxing champion title.
Defending champion, Papot was putting his belt on the line in front of his home crowd, against a determined challenger. Jkitou, 30, failed to snatch the belt from him. The two boxers with different styles clung to each other for the 12 rounds of the fight.
In the end, David Papot, from Saint-Nazaire, won the fight on points. Native of Nanterre, Bilel Jkitou is a star on social networks and very close to Karim Benzema.
