Danish Ferry Giant DFDS Expands Mediterranean Presence with FRS Iberia/Morocco Acquisition

As part of its expansion policy, the Danish ferry and logistics company DFDS, after approval by the competent authorities, has just finalized the acquisition of FRS Iberia/Morocco.
Through this acquisition, DFDS is strengthening its presence in the Mediterranean where it already operates links from Turkey to Italy and France, and from France to Tunisia. In doing so, the Danish company is also improving its capacity for passenger and freight transport, reports Diario Area, specifying that FRS Iberia Maroc will continue to operate normally, pending the finalization of the transfer procedures.
Established in the Strait of Gibraltar since 2000, FRS Iberia Maroc is the only freight and passenger ferry company to operate regular links between Tarifa and Tangier City, Algeciras and Tanger Med and Algeciras and Ceuta. It has seven ships and is known for the quality of its services and its compliance with environmental and safety standards.
For Ronny Moriana Glindemann, CEO of FRS Iberia Maroc, "this acquisition not only represents a step forward in our growth vision, but also strengthens our commitment to operational excellence, innovation and sustainability".
"We are delighted to begin the integration of FRS Iberia/Morocco and look forward to developing our combined capabilities to grow the business, while continuing to provide reliable and efficient ferry services to passengers and freight customers," said Torben Carlsen, CEO of DFDS.
