Dacia Leads Morocco’s Growing Car Market as January Sales Rise 6.63%

New car sales in Morocco reached 12,084 units in January, up 6.63% compared to January of the previous year, according to the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM).
Detailing by category, we note that passenger vehicle (VP) registrations reached 11,074 units, an increase of 5.54%. For light commercial vehicles (LCV), sales jumped 20.24%, reaching 1,010 units.
In the passenger vehicle segment, the Dacia brand has established itself with a market share of 34.22%, representing 3,790 cars sold in January. Renault comes in second with 1,522 vehicles sold (13.74% market share), followed by Hyundai with 1,051 units sold (9.49% market share).
As for light commercial vehicles, Renault leads with 273 units sold, or 27.03% market share. DFSK and Ford follow with 148 vehicles (14.65% market share) and 141 units sold (13.96% market share) respectively.
In the high-end segment, Audi sold 366 cars, obtaining a market share of 3.31%, ahead of BMW with 180 units (1.63% market share) and Mercedes-Benz with 249 units (2.25% market share).
Finally, Porsche sold 56 units in January 2024, recording a slight increase of 0.51% year-on-year, while Jaguar saw its sales increase by 0.1% with 11 cars sold.
