Cybercrime Ring Busted: Four Arrested in Morocco for Online Extortion Scheme

The cybercrime unit, in collaboration with the judicial police of the provincial district of Khouribga, dismantled a network of 4 scammers, including a young woman from the city of Oued Zem.
It all started with the complaints of the victims, tired of the numerous blackmail and threats from their harassers.
The joint operation, carried out by the cybercrime unit and the technical and scientific laboratory, made it possible to locate the residence of the scammers. Furthermore, the searches made it possible to seize computer equipment and payment receipts. Caught in the act, the defendants confessed.
Presented to the prosecutor of the king of the court of first instance of Oued Zem, the accused are being prosecuted in a state of arrest for fraudulent maneuvers, and precisely, for fraud, "sextortion" and blackmail.
