Cyberattack Hits Moroccan Import-Export Firms, Data Breach Suspected

Hackers used malware to access the database of several Moroccan companies specializing in import-export.
Unidentified individuals hacked the computer network and professional accounts of many Moroccan companies, reports Assabah. It was the heads of these companies who made this discovery. No details have been provided so far on the data that was hacked.
After this discovery, the company heads called on cybersecurity experts to determine the origin of these cyberattacks, their modus operandi and the nature of the hacked data. The preliminary investigation reveals that the hackers used malware sent by email to the targeted companies. Once the program is downloaded, the hackers have full control over the company’s entire computer network.
They send applications to download for free, offering (apparently) various diversified services or games. By downloading the application, the targeted person or company allows the hackers to access their computer network and use it for illegal purposes.
