Customs Seize 400 kg of Cannabis from Moroccan Truck in Nice, Driver Arrested

Customs in Nice-Saint-Isidore arrested a Moroccan truck driver and found 400 kg of cannabis hidden in the walls of his vehicle. He will be tried this Monday in court.
Originally from Tangier, the man arrested is 44 years old and is an unemployed family man. According to his lawyer Roland Lemaire, he would have "done a favor", reports Nice matin. He would have received the proposal of an unknown person. His mission was to deliver vegetables from Morocco to Perpignan. This delivery was effective. Next step? Go to Nice and wait for instructions. For 24 hours, he receives no instructions. On Thursday, the customs officers arrested him during a check.
After his arrest, he was placed in police custody at the Nice judicial police station, then referred to the public prosecutor’s office on Saturday. He will be tried in court this Monday. The cannabis he was transporting was to be sold on the Italian market.
