Croatia Fined and Sanctioned by UEFA for Racist Behavior Ahead of World Cup

Croatia, who share Group F with Morocco at the 2022 World Cup, has just been sanctioned by UEFA for "racist and discriminatory behavior" by supporters during the match against Austria (3-1) in September.
UEFA did not provide details on the incidents that occurred during this match. But it would be a question of insults from supporters directed against the federation and far-right chants.
The body has fined the Croatian federation 20,000 euros for this discrimination and another 23,000 euros for other incidents that occurred in Vienna. It also ordered the closure of a section of the stadium when Croatia host Wales in March, as part of the Euro 2024 group stage.
Croatia face Saudi Arabia on November 16 in Riyadh as part of their World Cup preparations, which are scheduled to kick off on November 20 in Qatar. The 2018 World Cup runners-up share Group F with Morocco, Belgium and Canada.
